The Covenant Christian Academy band was established in 1992 to provide a band program for families who have chosen home schooling for the education of their children. It is open to home school students in the north Alabama area from any covering. The band participates in district and state band events such as the Solo and Ensemble Festival, Music Performance Assessment, All-state, and district honor band festivals. We also have a yearly spring band camp retreat. The CCA band is first of all a ministry. Students in an instrumental music program learn not only music skills but other life lessons. They learn the value of hard work and diligence; they learn the importance of each part to the whole; they learn that different gifts and abilities contribute to the whole in unique ways. Many experiences in band can be transferred to our family, church and community life.
If your child is interested in learning to play an instrument, beginning band is for them. Typical instruments include the flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet or cornet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and percussion.
